    Asset Under Management

    AUM refers to the total market value of assets managed by an investment firm or financial institution on behalf of clients. It reflects the scale of assets under the manager’s control.

    Asset-backed security (ABS)

    An asset-backed security is a financial instrument supported by a pool of underlying assets such as mortgages, car loans, or credit card receivables.

    At Best

    An “at best” order instructs a broker to buy or sell an asset at the best available market price. While execution is fast, no specific price is guaranteed, as the order is filled at prevailing market conditions.

    At OR Better

    An “at or better” order directs the broker to execute a trade at a specified price or a more favorable one. As a type of limit order, it may take time to execute or may not be filled if the price is never reached.

    AT PAR

    At par refers to the face value of a financial instrument, such as a bond’s original issued value. Market prices may later trade above or below this level due to market conditions.

    At The Market

    An at-the-market order is executed immediately at the best available price. It prioritizes speed over price certainty and is commonly used when immediate execution is required.
